About Us

Key City Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. See our brochure.

We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with an outdoor walking area.

At Key City Veterinary Clinic we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal & affordable veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn’t feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For your convenience, day admission appointments are available Monday through Friday. A ‘day admission’ means you could bring your pet at the time that we open in the morning and leave him/her with us for the day. We will examine the patient in between appointments. We will ask you to give us a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions. For pets needing routine exams and vaccinations, there is a day care charge for keeping your pet for the day. For sick or injured pets, there is a hospitalization charge for the day.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.

Admissions

Surgery/Dental/Anesthesia Admissions -For pets being dropped off for a procedure, please have your pet at the clinic between 7:30 am and 8:00 am. This allows our technicians time to prepare your pet for the procedure (i.e. examination, blood work, surgery prep, etc.). Please do not feed your pet after 10:00pm the night before surgery, and do not feed or water it the day of surgery.

Boarding – Pets are available for drop-off starting at 7:30 am on weekdays. Pets can be picked up any time during normal business hours. Sorry, but no after-hours or Sunday pick-ups will be allowed, due to safety and legal reasons.

Boarding Policy

We board dogs and cats.

Boarding includes feedings twice daily, time in our covered outside run at least two times a day, and accommodations in our air conditioned kennel. We feed all dogs and cats Science Diet or Purina EN. If your pet requires a special diet or if you would prefer not changing your pet’s diet, please feel free to bring your pets preferred food. Fresh water will naturally be available at all times. Your pet’s quarters are cleaned at least twice a day.

For your pet’s safety, all dogs dropped off for boarding must be current on Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccinations.

All cats must be current on FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations.

Your pet MUST be free of internal and external parasites. If not, treatment will be done at your expense.
Pets will be admitted and discharged only during regular office hours.

Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.

All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. We encourage the discussion of fees prior to performing services. Treatment Plans are available, and our staff will be happy to prepare treatment plan for you at any time.

Deposits are needed for hospitalized patients.
For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash and personal checks.
